Hey, it's been a while, you. Summer's nearly over, huh? Any exciting last minute plans, feelings on how your summer's gone on the whole? Excited to return? (I bet not, LOL.)

[As phones were not allowed at the dinner table, Courfeyrac just about bounded up the flight of stairs to his room in threes to check to see if Jehan had responded in his absence. He had been reflecting over what he had sent throughout the meal and realized that it probably was not the best way to leave the other hanging.

The lack of response seemed to confirm that suspicion, and Marcel let loose his favourite Andorian curse under his breath.]

Sorry 'bout that; Papa hates to wait. :(

[He tapped his fingers on the desk as he thought fruitlessly of something more to say, but his hands felt tied behind his back. It would be so much easier to just be able to vid comm Jehan...]

We're so close to the end of our years in school; it's so surreal. I'm going to miss our study sessions the most, so let's have a lot of them to make up for lost time when we get back!

[Especially the ones that turned into sexy sleepovers, but he figured it would probably be better to leave talk of their bed-romping out this time around.]

[The vibrating of the phone against the wooden floors was annoying. So when it went off a second time, Jehan sighed through his nose, set his book aside, and went to go pick the silly thing up.

Reading over Courfeyrac's two messages, he eventually sat in a pile at his computer desk, drawing a leg up and putting his chin on it.

♥ We both study such different things, maybe we should invite Feuilly and B? So we have people to bounce off of. We'll figure something out! Big study party.

[He paused, thinking over how best to be honest, while... he didn't know. Letting Courfeyrac off the hook? Without seeming standoffish either. Definitely wasn't supposed to be this hard! Two weeks to shake this off still.]

Bleeeh, TA'ing is going to be so busy. I'll miss hanging out as often. :) Promise to keep me up to date on things!

[After the anxious excitement with which he'd picked up the phone again, his face fell. Of all people, did it have to be the dreamy Vulcan McHotpants? Ugh.]

Oh, well, the more the merrier, then! Haha.

[Actually the least merry, but, well, Courfeyrac knew what those texts meant. You didn't need to be a flirt to know when someone was trying to extract themselves from something they didn't want to do. He had siblings, after all.

Usually it didn't hurt so much, though.]
